For more than 70 years, the Lucille Lortel Theatre has been New York’s premiere Off-Broadway Playhouse. Rooted in the legacy of Lucille Lortel, the Theatre supports the creation and development of bold new work; programs a diverse slate of productions rather than relying on long-running hits; provides management services to arts nonprofits across New York City; partners with educational institutions to bolster the next generation of actors, playwrights, managers and producers; and honors outstanding achievement at the annual Lortel Awards.
