WHAT IS THE 121 PROJECT?
Every musical is at different stages of development
Some are at the early stages and need SPACE TO WRITE
Some are looking for DRAMATURGICAL SUPPORT
Some want to explore the PHYSICAL LANGUAGE of the piece
Some need to workshop VOCAL ARRANGEMENTS
And some need a READING

121 Project provides up to $10,000 of support based upon the specific needs of your project.
WHAT TYPE OF MUSICAL CAN I SUBMIT?
ANY style or genre of musical theater!
(But you need to have the underlying rights)
HOW DOES IT WORK?
ROUND 1
- Submit a one-page synopsis of your show
- Submit two contrasting songs. We want to hear what your intention is for the score and how the songs are telling the story
- Submit one-page or a one-minute video pitch about why you are passionate about telling this story and what development your musical needs
If you are selected to move forward in the process….
ROUND 2
- Submit 30 pages of the script
- Submit 3 additional songs
If you are selected to move forward in the process….
ROUND 3
- Submit full script (if available)
- Submit all songs (if available)
- Submit a one-page or one-minute video description of your developmental journey
- Interview with Michael Heitzman, Artistic Director for New Musical Development
