The Lucille Lortel Theatre is located on the Lenape island of Manhattan (Manahatta) in Lenapehoking, the Lenape homeland. We honor the history of the Lenape peoples in their homeland and acknowledge the privileges that we possess that allow us to use this land. We honor with gratitude the sacrifices of all Indigenous peoples still living with us in this territory. We stand in solidarity with them, supporting policies that affirm them as sovereign peoples, and we seek to transcend the pain of the past and create a present that respectfully embraces all of us. We are dedicated to providing resources to Indigenous peoples and organizations and continue to support Indigenous arts organizations financially and by offering subsidized use of our theaters.
