Before Amelia Earhart, there was Bessie Coleman — the first Black aviatrix who took her race from the cotton fields to the clouds. Barnstormer chronicles her journey from rural Waxahachie Texas to the freedom she found in the sky.

Iris Beaumier

Iris Beaumier is an actor, producer born and raised in New York City. Broadway: The Little Prince. Coal takes place during the 1920-21 Coal Mine Wars as the United Mine Workers push to unionize the remaining non-union coal fields in southern West Virginia. The story follows workers of the fictional Heron Creek coal mine as they are swept into what will become the largest armed insurrection in US History after the Civil War.

Desi Oakley is a stage, screen and voice artist in NYC, she’s most known for originating Jennaon the 1st National Tour of Waitress, and starring in the role on the West End. Desi has voiced feature films including the Wicked movie, Dear Evan Hansen, Tick, Tick, Boom! and Spirited. All of her original music can be found on all streaming platforms and her original musical, The Light Effect, is currently in development. Hart Island is a small island in the East River that has served as NYC’s public burial grounds for 150+ years. It is the final resting place for 1 million unclaimed and indigent New Yorkers, as well as thousands of still born infants. Set in 1985, Hart Island follows the lives of two people who have each lost a child and are unable to move beyond their grief.

Danny Haengil Larsen

Danny Haengil Larsen is an award-winningcomposer, lyricist, librettist,and orchestrator. His musicals, co-written with Michelle Elliott, include: Hart Island, Catch the Wind, Cloaked, The Yellow Wood, and several musicals for young audiences. Awards include The Jonathan Larson Award, the Richard Rodgers Award, NYMF Best Music Award, the Daryl Roth Award, and the Kleban Prize. Their musical web series The Hinterlands was nominated for 4 IAWTV awards. Danny is currently working on a new semi-autobiographical serial drama currently titled The Pain in My Gay-Mormon, Half-Korean Ass. He is also working on the new musical Country Radio with Emily Saliers of The Indigo Girls. Shayna Blass is a musician, producer, singer, and multi-hyphenate artist in Brooklyn. Recently back from the viral “Godspell in a Pool” production in Michigan. Sita Chay

A violinist, composer, and performance artist born in South Korea, Sita Chay is a 2017 Latin Grammy Award winner with the Mariachi group Flor de Toloache. Her creative endeavors have been generously supported by prestigious grants, including those from the NYFA Women’s Fund, NYFA artist fellowship, and New Music USA and has participated in residencies at notable venues like Joe’s Pub. Chay’s artistic journey is deeply rooted in the quest for the sacredness of life and the pursuit of truthfulness through the practice of ritual. Her interdisciplinary series, “Multidimensionally Human,” delves into the somatic sensations of psychotherapy IFS (Internal Family Systems) through various art forms. Collaborating with neuroscientist Dr. Nikolai Chapochnikov, she explores the intersection of art and science in her quest for deeper understanding. In 2023, she released “Ritual of Le Sac,” a music narrative film inspired by her experiences of pregnancy. Chay is also the founder of SaaWee, a Korean Shaman Music Ritual ensemble, blending theatricality with Korean folk spirituality and contemporary jazz which was recognized at the California Music Video Awards 2022 for Best World Music.

Corey Schutzer

Corey Schutzer, upright and electric bass, has held chairs in the Broadway productions of Spamalotand New York, New York, and has performed in over 30 other Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional musicals. For the past 10 years, he has held a chair in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular orchestra, and has toured and recorded extensively with the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra. Corey has performed in several of the Manhattan Concert Productions Broadway Series concerts, as well as the 2023 Broadway for Biden concert, music directed by Alex Lacamoire. He is a graduate of The Juilliard School.

Agustin Uriburu

Hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Latin Grammy Award winning artist and versatile musician, Agustin is recognized for his skills as a cellist, guitarist, composer, and arranger. Based in Brooklyn, he’s a sought-after collaborator, having worked with diverse artists such as the Jonas Brothers, Ben Platt, Residente, and jazz figures like Leo Genovese and Uri Caine. As a bandleader, his album “Santa Fe” has been recognized as one of Bandcamp’s “Best Jazz Albums” in 2022.

Agustin has made appearances at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and Radio City Music Hall, The Palace theater in Broadway, while also being a regular performer in the NY off-Broadway and Jazz music scene.
